About Us

Colleen Carey has been a pediatric physical therapist for more than 20 years. After working in pediatric rehabilitation, Colleen moved to the Philadelphia area with her family. After briefly working with the Jefferson Health System in their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and their rehabilitation hospital on City Line Avenue, she decided that it was time to open her own practice. During a period of time when healthcare changes were altering the landscape of therapeutic intervention, she knew that she wanted to offer outstanding specialized services to the group of clients that were our future: pediatric clients.

She envisioned an outpatient center where therapy interventions made real change in children’s lives. She dreamt of a place where children did not cry, but smiled with success and triumph in every accomplishment. She believed in a place where parents were always welcome in the therapy sessions because they were partners in their child’s success. Thus, in 1992 Children’s Therapy Center became a reality.

Since that time, Children’s Therapy Center has moved twice as we have grown to accommodate more children. Colleen has surrounded herself with a team of talented therapists. Each therapist has been recruited for their excellent clinical reputation and their shared vision of commitment to families of children with special needs. All of the therapists on our team have spent many years working with children allowing them to understand what is needed for each child to reach their fullest potential.
